Feudo Maccari Saia Sicilia IGT 2010

It is easy to find low price and interesting Italian wines. From my experience, some of it can be enjoyed, when it is still young. It may not take too much time for maturation in cellar. Of course those are not the finest Italian wine. It is an average priced and made with traditional grapes Nero D’ Avola Feudo Maccari Saia Sicilia IGT. Nero D’Avola (AKA: Calabrese and Black of Avola) originates in Sicily. The characteristic of Nero D’Avola is dark skinned grape with high tannins, medium acid and full body. The wine of this grape can be aged in oak barrels or drink it young fresh. When the wine is young, it shows plum, red fruits flavors and juicy. Some wine will be blended with Syrah.

The winery is located in Sicily Noto, the soil of vineyards is volcano earth (limestone). It is exposed to the southern side. Saia made with 100 % Nero D’Avola, the vinifications are controlled-temperature fermentation, maceration for about 20 days, aging in French oak and bottle age 6 months before release. 

My taste note: ruby red color shows red fruit, plum, vanilla and oak. Palate is sweet medium dry, full body, dense tannins and lively acid. At the end it shows very lovely jammy fruit and rich. If, you like fruity wine, it should be a good choice.   

很容易就可以找到一枝低價錢和好喝的意大利葡萄酒. 從我的經驗意大利葡萄酒都可以比較早去享受, 不需要太花時間去在酒窖成熟. 當然我不是說哪些名貴的意大利葡萄酒. 而是一枝大眾價錢用上意大利傳統葡萄Nero D’ Avola 的Feudo Maccari Saia Sicilia IGT. Nero D’Avola (又名: Calabrese and Black of Avola)是來自西西里島(Sicily). 這款葡萄的特徵是有深色果皮, 高單寧, 中等酸度, 和 Full Body. 這款葡萄的酒可以在木桶上成熟或可以年輕時飲用. 當年輕時這款葡萄酒會顯示出西梅(李子), 紅色水果, juicy 和 fruity. 有些葡萄酒跟希拉(Syrah) 混合釀製.

這個酒莊位於Sicily Noto, 葡萄園是在火山岩泥土(石灰岩)上. 它的日曬是向南部. Saia 是用100% Nero D’Avola, 釀酒過程有溫度控制發酵, 浸皮大約20天, 在法國木桶成熟, 裝瓶後再成熟多六個月才出售.

我的品酒筆記 : 紅寶石色, 顯示出紅色水果, 西梅(李子), 香草和木桶香. 口感是甜medium dry, 厚身, 濃重的單寧, 活潑的酸度. 最後有一重優美的果香 Jammy Fruit 和豐厚. 如果你喜歡Fruity 的葡萄酒, 這款酒可能是不錯的選擇.

It is not easy to buy a good quality of Burgundy wine with limit budget because the price is very depends on the AOC and winemaker. In fact, we can choose the Villages wine from famous winemaker. The quality is very stable and with a bargain price. Domaine Philippe Charlopin-Parizot Burgundy 2008 is Villages wine (Red). Philippe is a famous winemaker in Burgundy and one of the Henri Jayer apprentices. He followed Henri Jayer wine making style such as low yields, complete de-stemming, cold soaking, new oak for maturation and etc.  

It comes with light purple color, shows Berries, Oak and Flowers aromas. Then, oak will lead the wine to the end. The palate is dry, medium Body with smooth tannins, high acidity likes berries and after taste bring strawberry sweet. I found this is a structure wine with Burgundy local style. It is worth to try!!   

布根地紅酒是比較難買到又平又有質素的紅酒. 因為它都是按照布根地的AOC 和釀酒師來定價, 其實我們可以選擇一些出名釀酒師的村莊酒. 這些酒品質比較穩定和價錢不會太高. Domaine Philippe Charlopin-Parizot Burgundy 2008 是一枝村莊酒 (Red). Philippe在布根地是一個Philippe在布根地是一位著名的釀酒師, 他是布根酒神Henri Jayer的徒弟之一. 他都有跟隨Henri Jayer的釀酒風格, 例如 : 低產量, 完全去莖, 冷浸, 在全新木桶成熟, 等等.

這枝酒是用100% Pinot Noir, 有淺紫色, 表現出漿果, 木桶香, 有一些花香. 之後都是木桶香帶領到最後. 口感是乾(dry)紅酒, 中等酒體, 順滑的單寧, 高酸度有如一些漿果酸, After Taste 帶出一種士多啤梨甜. 我覺得這枝酒是比較有結構 (Structure) 和充滿布根地風格. 這是值得一試!!
